ROAD TRAFFIC (LICENSING OF DRIVERS) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1980.

The Minister for the Environment in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 5 and 42 of the Road Traffic Act, 1961 (No. 24 of 1961) hereby makes the following Regulations:—

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Road Traffic (Licensing of Drivers) (Amendment) Regulations, 1980.

2. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 1st day of August, 1980.

3. Sub-article (2) of article 10, sub-article (2) of article 17 and sub-article (2) of article 24 of the Road Traffic (Licensing of Drivers) Regulations, 1964 ( S.I. No. 29 of 1964 ) are hereby amended by the substitution therein for the words "fifty new pence" (as substituted by article 5 of the Road Traffic (Licensing of Drivers) (Amendment) Regulations, 1973) ( S.I. No. 120 of 1973 ) of the words "two pounds".

4. Article 20 of the Road Traffic (Licensing of Drivers) Regulations, 1964 is hereby amended by the substitution for the words "four pounds" (as substituted by article 3 of the Road Traffic (Licensing of Drivers) (Amendment) Regulations, 1979) ( S.I. No. 337 of 1979 ) of the words "six pounds".

5. Sub-article (1) of article 27 of the Road Traffic (Licensing of Drivers) Regulations, 1964 (as substituted by article 4 of the Road Traffic (Licensing of Drivers) (Amendment) Regulations 1979) is hereby amended by the substitution therein for the words "ten" and "six" of the words "fifteen" and "ten" respectively.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations further amend the Road Traffic (Licensing of Drivers) Regulations, 1964, so as to provide for revised rates of fees in respect of a driving test, a provisional licence, a duplicate driving licence, a duplicate provisional licence and in respect of the furnishing of information concerning any licence.
