GAMING AND LOTTERIES ACT, 1979

AN ACT TO AMEND SECTIONS 4 , 37 AND 42 OF THE GAMING AND LOTTERIES ACT, 1956 . [20th March, 1979]

BE IT ENACTED BY THE OIREACHTAS AS FOLLOWS :

Amendment of Gaming and Lotteries Act, 1956.

1.—The Gaming and Lotteries Act, 1956 , is hereby amended—

(a) in section 4, by the substitution of the following paragraph for paragraph (c) of subsection (1) :

“ (c) by means of any slot-machine.”,

and

(b) in sections 37 and 42, by the deletion, in each place where it occurs, of “a slot-machine prohibited by section 10 or”.

Short title and collective citation.

2.—(1) This Act may be cited as the Gaming and Lotteries Act, 1979.

(2) The Gaming and Lotteries Acts, 1956 and 1970, and this Act may be cited together as the Gaming and Lotteries Acts, 1956 to 1979.
