WILDLIFE (WILD MAMMALS) (OPEN SEASONS) ORDER, 1977.

I, BRIAN LENIHAN, Minister for Fisheries, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 25 of the Wildlife Act, 1976 (No. 39 of 1976), as adapted by the Lands (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1977 ( S.I. No. 29 of 1977 ), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Wildlife (Wild Mammals) (Open Seasons) Order, 1977.

2. Each of the species of wild mammals specified in the first column of the Schedule to this Order may throughout the State be hunted during the period of days specified in the second column of that Schedule opposite the mention of the species and in the manner so specified in the third column of that Schedule.

SCHEDULE.

Red Deer:
Males	The 1st day of August, 1977, to the 30th day of April, 1978, both days inclusive.
Females	The 1st day of November, 1977, to the 28th day of February, 1978, both days inclusive.
Fallow Deer:
Males	The 1st day of August, 1977, to the 30th day of April, 1978, both days inclusive.	Shooting with firearms;
Females	The 1st day of November, 1977, to the 28th day of February, 1978, both days inclusive.
Sika Deer:
Males	The 1st day of August, 1977, to the 30th day of April, 1978, both days inclusive,
Females	The 1st day of November, 1977, to the 28th day of February, 1978, both days inclusive.
Hares	The 26th day of September, 1977 to the 28th day of February, 1978, both days inclusive.	Shooting with firearms;
		Coursing;
		Hunting with packs of beagles or harriers.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of this order is to set out for the 1977/78 Season the Open Seasons during which Deer Species and Hares may be hunted throughout the State and the manner of hunting which may be used.
