LANDS (ALTERATION OF NAME OF DEPARTMENT AND TITLE OF MINISTER) ORDER, 1977.

The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 6 (1) of the Ministers and Secretaries (Amendment) Act, 1939 (No. 36 of 1939), hereby order as follows:

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Lands (Alteration of name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1977.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 9th day of February, 1977.

2. The name of the Department of State, the present name whereof is, in the Irish language, An Roinn Tailte, and, in the English language, the Department of Lands, is hereby altered in the Irish language to that of An Roinn Iascaigh and, in the English language, to that of the Department of Fisheries.

3. The title of the Minister having charge of a Department of State, whose present title is, in the Irish language, an tAire Tailte and, in the English language, the Minister for Lands, is hereby altered in the Irish language to that of an tAire Iascaigh and, in the English language to that of the Minister for Fisheries.

4. In any enactment—

(a) references to the Department of Lands shall be construed as references to the Department of Fisheries,

(b) references to the Minister for Lands shall be construed as references to the Minister for Fisheries.
