PIGS AND BACON ACT, 1935 (PART II) (No. 4) REGULATIONS, 1973.

I, MARK CLINTON, Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries, in exercise of the power conferred on me by sections 8 and 28 (1) of the Pigs and Bacon Act, 1935 (No. 24 of 1935) (as amended by section 6 (a) of the Agricultural Produce (Meat) (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1954 (No. 33 of 1954)) and the Agriculture (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1965 ( S.I. No. 146 of 1965 ), hereby make the following regulations, with respect to which pursuant to section 6 (b) of the said Agricultural Produce (Meat) (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1954 , a draft has been laid before each House of the Oireachtas and a resolution approving of the draft has been passed by each such House:

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Pigs and Bacon Act, 1935 (Part II) (No. 4) Regulations, 1973.

2. These Regulations shall be deemed to have come into operation on the 1st day of January, 1969.

3. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to these Regulations.

4. For the purposes of section 28 (1) of the Pigs and Bacon Act, 1935 (No. 24 of 1935), the prescribed sum shall be 2.0833 new pence.

5. The Pigs and Bacon Act, 1935 (Part II) (No. 3) Regulations, 1964 ( S.I. No. 37 of 1964 ), are hereby revoked.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations adjust as from 1st January, 1969, the fees payable by fresh-meat exporters for veterinary examination of animals in accordance with the Agricultural Produce (Fresh Meat) Act, 1930 .
