PIGS AND BACON ACT, 1935 (PART II) (NO. 3) REGULATIONS, 1964.

I, PATRICK SMITH, Minister for Agriculture, in exercise of the power conferred on me by section 8 and subsection (1) of section 28 of the Pigs and Bacon Act, 1935 (No. 24 of 1935), as amended by paragraph (a) of section 6 of the Agricultural Produce (Meat) (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1954 (No. 33 of 1954), hereby make the following regulations, with respect to which, pursuant to paragraph (b) of section 6 of the Agricultural Produce (Meat) (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1954 , a draft has been laid before each House of the Oireachtas and a resolution approving of the draft has been passed by each such House :

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Pigs and Bacon Act, 1935 (Part II) (No. 3) Regulations, 1964.

2. These Regulations shall be deemed to have come into operation on the 1st day of July, 1963.

3. For the purposes of subsection (1) of section 28 of the Pigs and Bacon Act, 1935 (No. 24 of 1935), the prescribed sum shall be sixpence.

4. Regulation 7 of the Pigs and Bacon Act, 1935 (Part II) (No. 2) Regulations, 1936 ( S. R. & O. No. 311 of 1936 ), is hereby revoked.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations increase from fivepence to sixpence the rate of fee payable by bacon curers in respect of every pig presented by them on and after 1st July, 1963, for veterinary examination under the Pigs and Bacon Act, 1935 .
