DISTRICT COURT AREAS (VARIATION OF DAYS AND HOURS) ORDER, (No. 3) 1972.

I, DESMOND O'MALLEY, Minister for Justice, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 26 (1) (f) of the Courts of Justice Act, 1953 (No. 32 of 1953), and after consultation with the President of the District Court, hereby order as follows:

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the District Court Areas (Variation of Days and Hours) (No. 3) Order, 1972.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of November, 1972.

2. In this Order "the Principal Order" means the District Court Areas Order, 1961 ( S.I. No. 5 of 1961 ).

3. The days and hours for holding the District Court in the district court area of Kilkenny shall, in lieu of the days and hours specified in column (4) at reference number 131 in the First Schedule to the Principal Order, and in column (4) at reference number 115 in the Second Schedule to that Order, be the first, third and fourth Tuesday in each month at 11.00 a.m.

4. The days and hours for holding the District Court (Children's Court only) in the district court area of Waterford shall, in lieu of the days and hours (as varied by the District Court Areas (Variation of Days) (No. 3) Order, 1964 ( S.I. No. 237 of 1964 )) specified in column 4 of the First Schedule to the Principal Order at reference number 245, be the fourth Thursday in each month at 10.30 a.m.

5. Business transacted in the District Court Area of Kilkenny which is initiated and is not completed before the commencement of this Order shall be continued and completed as if this Order has been in force at the time at which such business had been initiated.

6. Business transacted in the District Court Area of Waterford (Children's Court only) which is initiated and is not completed before the commencement of this Order shall be continued and completed as if this Order had been in force at the time at which such business had been initiated.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order alters the existing provisions with regard to the days for holding sittings of the District Court in Kilkenny and Waterford.
