SOCIAL WELFARE (DEATH GRANT) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1972.

The Minister for Social Welfare, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by Section 3 of the Social Welfare Act, 1952 (No. 11 of 1952) and Section 28B of the said Act (inserted therein by section 10 of the Social Welfare Act, 1970 (No. 12 of 1970)), hereby makes the following Regulations : —

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Social Welfare (Death Grant) (Amendment) Regulations, 1972.

(2) In these Regulations "the Principal Regulations" means the Social Welfare (Death Grant) Regulations, 1971 ( S.I. No. 98 of 1971 ).

(3) These Regulations and the Principal Regulations may be cited together as the Social Welfare (Death Grant) Regulations 1971 and 1972.

2. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 2nd day of October 1972.

3. The following Schedule shall be substituted for the Schedule to the Principal Regulations.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The Social Welfare Act, 1972 , provides for increased maximum rates of death grant with effect from 2nd October, 1972. These Regulations amend the Social Welfare (Death Grant) Regulations, 1971, to enable increased reduced rates of death grant to be paid where the contribution conditions are only partially satisfied.
