LIMERICK TRAFFIC BYE-LAWS, 1972.

I, MICHAEL J. WYMES, Commissioner of the Garda Siochána in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 89 of the Road Traffic Act, 1961 (No. 24 of 1961) (as amended by section 6 of the Road Traffic Act, 1968 (No. 25 of 1968)), with the consent of the Minister for Local Government and after consultation with the Mayor, Aldermen and Burgesses of the county borough of Limerick, hereby make the following bye-laws in respect of the area comprising the county borough of Limerick:—

1 Short title.

1. These bye-laws may be cited as the Limerick Traffic Bye-Laws, 1972.

2 Area of application.

2. These bye-laws apply to the area comprising the county borough of Limerick.

3 Revocation.

3. Bye-law 5 of the Limerick Traffic Bye-laws, 1962 ( S.I. No. 110 of 1962 ), is hereby revoked.

4 Compliance with traffic signs.

4. A driver shall comply with a prohibition, restriction or requirement indicated by means of a traffic sign.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

1. These bye-laws may be cited as the Limerick Traffic Bye-Laws, 1972.

2. These bye-laws shall apply to the area comprising the county borough of Limerick.

3. The bye-laws revoke Bye-law 5 of the Limerick Traffic Bye-Laws, 1962.

4. Bye-law 4 provides that a driver shall comply with a prohibition, restriction or requirement indicated by means of a traffic sign.
