DECIMAL CURRENCY (AMENDMENT OF REFERENCES) (No. 2) ORDER, 1971.

I, PÁDRAIG Ó FACHTNA, Minister for Education, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 10 of the Decimal Currency Act, 1970 (No. 21 of 1970), and with the consent of the Minister for Finance, hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Decimal Currency (Amendment of References) (No. 2) Order, 1971.

2. This Order shall be deemed to have come into operation on the 15th day of February, 1971.

3. The Secondary Teachers' Superannuation Scheme, 1929 (S.R. & O., No. 19 of 1929), is hereby amended by the substitution in Article 21 (2) of "twelve new pence" for "fourpence" in both places where it occurs.

4. The National School Teachers' Superannuation Scheme, 1934 (S.R. & O., No. 23 of 1934), is hereby amended by the substitution in Article 20 (2) of "twelve new pence" for "fourpence" in both places where it occurs.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order amends certain Statutory Rules and Orders containing references to amounts of money in £sd which are not a whole number of pounds and for which conversion to an exact equivalent basis under section 9 of the Decimal Currency Act 1970 would not be satisfactory.
