LOCAL AUTHORITIES (COMBINED PURCHASING) ACT, 1939 (EXTENSION OF APPLICATION) ORDER, 1971.

The Minister for Local Government in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 3 of the Local Authorities (Combined Purchasing) Act, 1939 (No. 14 of 1939) hereby orders and declares as follows:—

1. This Order may be cited as the Local Authorities (Combined Purchasing) Act, 1939 (Extension of Application) Order, 1971.

2. The following bodies are and shall be local authorities within the meaning and for the purposes of the Local Authorities (Combined Purchasing) Act, 1939 —

The Eastern Health Board,

The Midland Health Board,

The Mid-Western Health Board,

The North-Eastern Health Board,

The North-Western Health Board,

The South-Eastern Health Board,

The Southern Health Board,

The Western Health Board.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of this Order is to bring within the scope of the central contracting system for purchases which is operated under the Local Authorities (Combined Purchasing) Act, 1939 , the health boards set up under the Health Act, 1970 .
