SOLICITORS ACT, 1954 (FEES) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1970.

By virtue and in pursuance of Sections 4 , 5 , 79 and 82 of the Solicitors Act 1954 and of every other power in that behalf the Incorporated Law Society of Ireland hereby make the following Regulations:—

1. These Regulations shall be read together with the Solicitors Act 1954 (Fees) Regulations 1968 ( S.I. No. 240 of 1968 ) (hereinafter called "the Principal Regulations") and shall insofar as they are inconsistent therewith alter and amend the same.

2. The sum of £10 is hereby added to each of the sums in items 1 and 2 of the Schedule to the Principal Regulations and the said Schedule is hereby amended accordingly.

3. These Regulations and the Principal Regulations may be cited as the Solicitors Act 1954 (Fees) Regulations 1968 and 1970.

4. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 22nd day of October, 1970.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The fee payable by a solicitor on taking out a practising certificate is raised from £11 to £21 in the case of a solicitor practising in Dublin and from £8 to £18 in the case of a solicitor practising elsewhere.
