DISTRICT COURT DISTRICTS AND AREAS (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1967.

I, BRIAN LENIHAN, Minister for Justice, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 26 (1) (a), 26 (1) (c) and 26 (1) (f) of the Courts of Justice Act, 1953 (No. 32 of 1953), and after consultation with the President of the District Court, hereby order as follows:

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the District Court Districts and Areas (Amendment) Order, 1967.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of February, 1967.

2. In this Order " the Principal Order " means the District Court (Areas) Order, 1961 ( S.I. No. 5 of 1961 ).

3. The district court area of Clane, mentioned at reference number 121 in the First Schedule and at reference number 105 in the Second Schedule to the Principal Order, is hereby abolished.

4. District No. 16, mentioned at reference number 16 in the First and Second Schedules to the District Court (Districts) Order, 1961 ( S.I. No. 6 of 1961 ), is hereby varied by the deletion of the district court area of Clane from the district court areas forming that district and mentioned at that reference number.

5. The district court area of Naas is hereby varied by the addition, to the district electoral divisions mentioned in column (5) at reference number 125 in the First Schedule and reference number 109 in the Second Schedule of the Principal Order, of the district electoral divisions of Clane, Downings, Kilmeage North, Kilmeage South, Rathernan and Robertstown.

6. The district court area of Kilcock is hereby varied by the addition, to the district electoral divisions mentioned in paragraph (a) of column (5) at reference number 123 in the First Schedule and reference number 107 in the Second Schedule of the Principal Order, of the district electoral divisions of Straffan and Timahoe South.

7. The days and hours for the time being appointed for holding the District Court in the district court area of Naas are hereby varied by the addition, to the days and hours mentioned in column (4) at reference number 125 in the First Schedule and reference number 109 in the Second Schedule of the Principle Order, of the first Tuesday of each month at 11 a.m.

8. Business transacted in the District Court which is initiated and is not completed before the commencement of this Order shall be continued and completed as if this Order had been in force at the time at which such business had been initiated.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order abolishes the District Court Area of Clane and distributes the District Electoral Divisions comprised therein between Naas and Kilcock District Court Areas. It also provides for an additional monthly sitting of the District Court at Naas.
