DISTRICT COURT AREAS (VARIATION OF DAYS) ORDER, 1964.

I, CHARLES J. HAUGHEY, Minister for Justice, in exercise of the power conferred on me by paragraph (f) of subsection (1) of section 26 of the Courts of Justice Act, 1953 (No. 32 of 1953), and after consultation with the President of the District Court, hereby order as follows:

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the District Court Areas (Variation of Days) Order, 1964.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of February, 1964.

2. In this Order " the Principal Order " means the District Court (Areas) Order, 1961 ( S.I. No. 5 of 1961 ).

3. The days for holding the District Court in the District Court Area of Howth shall, in lieu of the days specified in column (4) at reference number 66 in the Second Schedule to the Principal Order, be the fourth Thursday in the months of January, March, May, July, September and November, and the Principal Order shall be construed and have effect accordingly.

4. Business transacted in the District Court Area of Howth which is initiated and is not completed before the commencement of this Order shall be continued and completed as if paragraph 3 of this Order had been in force at the time at which such business had been initiated.

5. The days for holding the District Court in the District Court Area of Longwood shall, in lieu of the days specified in column (4) at reference number 192 in the First Schedule to the Principal Order, be the fourth Thursday in the months of February, April, June, August, October and December, and the Principal Order shall be construed and have effect accordingly.

6. Business transacted in the District Court Area of Longwood which is initiated and is not completed before the commencement of this Order shall be continued and completed as if paragraph 5 of this Order had been in force at the time at which such business had been initiated.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order amends the existing provisions with regard to the days of sittings of the District Court in Longwood, Co. Meath, and Howth.
