SOCIAL WELFARE (TREATMENT BENEFIT) (AMENDMENT) (No. 3) REGULATIONS, 1960.

I, SEÁN MACENTEE, Minister for Social Welfare, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 and subsections (1) and (2) of section 25 of the Social Welfare Act, 1952 (No. 11 of 1952), hereby make the following regulations:—

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Social Welfare (Treatment Benefit) (Amendment) (No. 3) Regulations, 1960.

(2) The Social Welfare (Treatment Benefit) Regulations, 1954 ( S.I. No. 156 of 1954 ), the Social Welfare (Treatment Benefit) (Amendment) Regulations, 1960 ( S.I. No. 43 of 1960 ), the Social Welfare (Treatment Benefit) (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations, 1960 ( S.I. No. 126 of 1960 ) and these Regulations may be cited collectively as the Social Welfare (Treatment Benefit) Regulations, 1954 to 1960.

2. Paragraph (b) of sub-article (2) of article 10 of the Social Welfare (Treatment Benefit) Regulations, 1954 is hereby amended by the insertion before the word "that" of the words "in the case of a claimant aged twenty-one years or over".

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations amend the Social Welfare (Treatment Benefit) Regulations, 1954 ( S.I. No. 156 of 1954 ) to provide that the requirement of having not less than 26 employment contributions paid or credited in the contribution year governing the claim to treatment benefit will not apply in the case of an insured person under 21 years of age.
