Pigs and Bacon (Amendment) Act, 1938

Extension of term of office of ordinary members of the Pigs Marketing Board.

3.—(1) Notwithstanding anything contained in section 43 of the Act of 1937, every person who is on the date of the passing of this Act an ordinary member of the Board or who is appointed on or after the said date to fill a casual vacancy amongst the ordinary members of the Board shall, unless he sooner dies, resigns or becomes disqualified, hold office until the 10th day of January, 1940.

(2) Sub-sections (1) and (2) of section 43 of the Act of 1937 are hereby amended by the substitution of the figures “1940” for the figures “1939” in each of the said sub-sections, and the said section 43 , section 47 of the Act of 1937 and Part IV of the Principal Act shall be construed and have effect accordingly.

(3) In this section the expression “the Board” means the Pigs Marketing Board.
