Pigs and Bacon (Amendment) Act, 1938

Extension of term of office of existing ordinary and substitutive members of the Bacon Marketing Board.

2.—(1) Notwithstanding anything contained in section 13 of the Act of 1937—

(a) every person who is on the date of the passing of this Act an ordinary member of the Board or who is appointed on or after the said date to fill a casual vacancy amongst the ordinary members of the Board shall, unless he sooner dies, resigns or becomes disqualified, hold office until the 31st day of December, 1939;

(b) every person who is on the said date a substitutive member of the Board shall, unless he sooner dies, resigns, becomes disqualified or is appointed to fill a casual vacancy amongst the ordinary members of the Board, hold office as a substitutive member until the 31st day of December, 1939.

(2) Sub-section (1) of section 13 of the Act of 1937 is hereby amended by the substitution of the figures “1939” for the figures “1938”, and the said section 13 , section 14 of the Act of 1937, and Part III of the Principal Act shall be construed and have effect accordingly.

(3) In this section the expression “the Board” means the Bacon Marketing Board.
