S.I. No. 243/2026 - Competition Act 2002 (Section 27) Order 2026

Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

“Iris Oifigiúil” of 12th June, 2026.

I, PETER BURKE, Minister for Enterprise, Tourism and Employment, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 27 (1) of the Competition Act 2002 (No. 14 of 2002), having regard to, and only to, such economic data as I consider to be relevant to the purpose, hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Competition Act 2002 (Section 27) Order 2026.

2. This Order shall come into operation on 1 July 2026.

3. Section 18 (1)(a) of the Competition Act 2002 (No. 14 of 2002) is amended -

(a) in subparagraph (i), by the substitution of “€100,000,000” for “€60,000,000”, and

(b) in subparagraph (ii), by the substitution of “€15,000,000” for “€10,000,000”.

This Ministerial Order amends section 18 (1) of the Competition Act 2002 (as amended) by altering the monetary amounts standing relating to the obligation to notify certain mergers and acquisitions.
