S.I. No. 189/2026 - Protection of Employees (Employers’ Insolvency) (Amendment) Act 2026 (Commencement) Order 2026

Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

“Iris Oifigiúil” of 1st May, 2026.

I, PETER BURKE, Minister for Enterprise, Tourism and Employment, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 1 (3) of the Protection of Employees (Employers’ Insolvency) (Amendment) Act 2026 (No. 7 of 2026), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Protection of Employees (Employers’ Insolvency) (Amendment) Act 2026 (Commencement) Order 2026.

2. The 5th day of May 2026 is appointed as the day on which the following provisions of the Protection of Employees (Employers’ Insolvency) (Amendment) Act 2026 (No. 7 of 2026) shall come into operation:

(a) Part 1;

(b) paragraphs (c), (d) and (e)(i) of section 7;

(c) section 8, other than paragraph (b);

(d) paragraph (a) of section 9;

(e) section 11;

(f) section 13.
