Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

I, LEO VARADKAR, Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 2 (1)(c) of the Withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union (Consequential Provisions) Act 2020 (No. 23 of 2020), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union (Consequential Provisions) Act 2020 (Part 4) (Commencement) Order 2021.

2. The 15th day of March 2021 is appointed as the day on which Part 4 of the Withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union (Consequential Provisions) Act 2020 (No. 23 of 2020) shall come into operation.

Part 4 of the Withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union (Consequential Provisions) Act 2020 provides for miscellaneous amendments to the Companies Act 2014 to facilitate the operation of a substitute securities settlement system, compatible with the law of the European Union.
