S.I. No. 532/2019 - Data Protection Act 2018 (Commencement) Order 2019

Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

“Iris Oifigiúil” of 1st November, 2019.

I, CHARLES FLANAGAN, Minister for Justice and Equality, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 1 (3) of the Data Protection Act 2018 (No. 7 of 2018), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Data Protection Act 2018 (Commencement) Order 2019.

2. The 30th day of October 2019 is appointed as the day on which section 7(3), insofar as it relates to the revocation of the Data Protection Act 1988 (Section 5(1)(d)) (Specification) Regulations 1993 ( S.I. No. 95 of 1993 ), insofar as those Regulations relate to the functions of the Central Bank of Ireland to which Regulation 3 of those Regulations applies, of the Data Protection Act 2018 (No. 7 of 2018) shall come into operation.
