Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

“Iris Oifigiúil” of 3rd January, 2014.

I, PHIL HOGAN, Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 56 of the Valuation Act 2001 , as amended by section 8 of the Local Government (Business Improvement Districts) Act 2006 , having obtained the consent of the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform, hereby order that Dublin City Council exercise its powers to make rates in such a manner as to secure that the total amount liable to be paid to it in respect of rates made by it for the local financial year 2014 does not exceed an amount determined in accordance with the formula set out in section 56 (2) of the Valuation Act 2001 , as amended, where “A” is the figure 1.003.

This order may be cited as the Valuation Act 2001 (Dublin City Council) (Rate Limitation) Order 2013.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation).

This order requires that Dublin City Council, in exercising its powers to make rates for the financial year 2014, does so in such a way to ensure that the total amount of rates liable to be paid to it does not exceed an amount determined in accordance with the formula set out in section 56 (2) of the Valuation Act 2001 (as amended). This formula relates to the Consumer Price Index (All Items).
