S.I. No. 511/2012 - Statistics (Survey of Industrial Commodities Production) Order 2012.


Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

“Iris Oifigiúil” of 18th December, 2012.

I, ENDA KENNY, Taoiseach in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 25 (1) of the Statistics Act 1993 (No. 21 of 1993) and for the purpose of giving full effect to Council Regulation (EEC) No. 3924/91 of 19 December 19911 , hereby order as follows:

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Statistics (Survey of Industrial Commodities Production) Order 2012.

(2) This Order has effect from 1 January 2013.

2. This Order applies to any person or undertaking who engaged in one or more of the activities described in Schedule 1 at any time during a year in respect of which a survey is undertaken.

3. A person or undertaking to which this Order applies is required to provide the Central Statistics Office with information under the Statistics Act 1993 , the general nature of which is specified in Schedule 2.

4. The information referred to in Article 3 shall be provided annually.

Schedule 1

Article 2

1. Mining and Quarrying

Mining and Quarrying including the extraction of minerals occurring naturally as solids, (coals and ores) liquids, (petroleum) or gases (natural gas). Extraction can be by underground or surface mining, well operation, seabed mining etc.

2. Manufacturing

Manufacturing including the mechanical, physical or chemical transformation of

materials, substances and components which are products of agriculture, forestry, fishing, mining or quarrying as well as products of other manufacturing into new products; assembling of component parts of manufactured products; specialised maintenance, repair and installation of industrial, commercial and similar machinery and equipment.

Schedule 2

Article 3

1. Name of undertaking.

2. Address of registered office or principal place of business in the State.

3. If Branch premises, name and address of headquarters of undertaking.

4. Description of activities conducted.

5. Number of persons employed by undertaking.

6. Particulars of the quantity and value of commodities produced and sold during the year by the undertaking and, where appropriate, the amount received by the undertaking in respect of commodities produced by it on commission on behalf of another undertaking.

7. Particulars of the amount received from the specialised maintenance, repair and installation of industrial, commercial and similar machinery and equipment.

8. Currency used.
