S.I. No. 260/2012 - Land Purchase Acts Rules 2012.


Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

“Iris Oifigiúil” of 24th July, 2012.

I, SIMON COVENEY, Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the Land Act 1933 (No. 38 of 1933) as amended by section 9 of the Land Act 2005 (No. 24 of 2005) as adapted by the Agriculture, Food and the Marine (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order 2011 ( S.I. No. 455 of 2011 ) and after consultation with the Judge of the High Court exercising the jurisdiction of the Judicial Commissioner and with the President of the Law Society of Ireland, hereby order as follows:

1. These Rules may be cited as the Land Purchase Acts Rules 2012.

2. (1) A person seeking a service listed in the Schedule shall submit an application to the Minister.

(2) An application for a service shall be accompanied by the fee mentioned opposite that service in the Schedule.

(3) The Minister may refuse to deal with any application where that application is not accompanied by the appropriate fee.

(4) A fee may be paid—

(a) in cash,

(b) by means of cheque, banker’s draft, money order or postal order payable to the Minister, or

(c) by another means if the Minister has given prior approval for an alternative means of payment.

3. The Land Purchase Acts Rules 1984 ( S.I. No. 253 of 1984 ) are revoked.
