NATIONAL MILK AGENCY (CONDUCT OF ELECTIONS)(AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS 2009

Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

“Iris Oifigiúil” of 18th September, 2009.

I, BRENDAN SMITH, Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 20 of, and paragraph 5(5) of the Schedule to, the Milk (Regulation of Supply) Act, 1994 (No. 25 of 1994) (as adapted by the Agriculture and Food (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order 2007 ( S.I. No. 705 of 2007 )), hereby make the following regulations:

1. These Regulations may be cited as the National Milk Agency (Conduct of Elections)(Amendment) Regulations 2009.

The National Milk Agency (Conduct of Elections) Regulations 1997 (S. I. No. 185 of 1997) are amended by the substitution for Regulation 4 (2), of—

“(2) (a) The registered producers who, on the first day of the month next preceding the month in which the election day falls, were suppliers of raw milk for heat treatment for liquid consumption with—

(i) Connacht Gold Co-operative Society Ltd,

(ii) Glanbia Foods Society Limited,

(iii) Glenisk Limited,

(iv) Glenveagh Agricultural Co-operative Society Limited,

(v) Town of Monaghan Co-operative Agricultural & Dairy Society Limited, or

(vi) Tullamore Dairies Limited,

comprise a constituency and are entitled to elect 3 producer members to the National Milk Agency.

(b) The registered producers who, on the first day of the month next preceding the month in which the election day falls, were suppliers of raw milk for heat treatment for liquid consumption with—

(i) Arrabawn Co-operative Society Limited,

(ii) Ardrahan Dairy Products Limited,

(iii) Centenary Thurles Co-operative Society Limited,

(iv) Clona Dairy Products Society Limited,

(v) Dairygold Co-operative Society Limited,

(vi) Dairygold Co-operative Society Limited as agent for Glanbia Plc,

(vii) Dawn Dairies Limited,

(viii) Lee Strand Co-operative Creamery Limited,

(ix) North Cork Co-operative Society Limited,

(x) Valentia Island Farmhouse Dairy, or

(xi) Wexford Creamery Limited

comprise a constituency and are entitled to elect 2 producer members to the National Milk Agency.”
