I, Mary Coughlan, Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act 1972 (No. 27 of 1972), and for the purpose of giving further effect to Council Directive 2001/114/EC of 20 December 2001 1 , and Council Directive 2007/61/EC of 26 September 2007 2 , hereby make the following Regulations: | ||
1. These Regulations may be cited as European Communities (Dehydrated Preserved Milk) (Amendment) Regulations 2008 | ||
2. The European Communities (Dehydrated Preserved Milk) Regulations 2003 ( S.I. No. 298 of 2003 ) are amended in Regulation 2(1), by substituting for the definition of “Directive”— | ||
“Directive” means Council Directive 2001/114/EC of 20 December 2001, and Council Directive 2007/61/EC of 26 September 2007.” | ||

EXPLANATORY NOTE | ||

These Regulations amend the European Communities (Dehydrated Preserved Milk) Regulations 2003. They give legal effect to Directive 2007/61/EC providing for the standardisation of protein content of partly or wholly dehydrated milk, and should be read in conjunction with the Directive. | ||
