RADIOLOGICAL PROTECTION ACT, 1991 (IONISING RADIATION) ORDER, 2000 (REVOCATION) ORDER 2007

Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

“Iris Oifigiúil” of 2nd October, 2007.

The Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government, in the exercise of the powers conferred on him by Section 30(8) of the Radiological Protection Act 1991 (No. 9 of 1991) and the Meteorological Services, Radiological Protection and Nuclear Safety (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) Order 2002, and following consultation with the Ministers for Finance, Enterprise Trade and Employment, Agriculture and Food, Health and Children, Education and Science, Foreign Affairs, Arts Sport and Tourism, Marine Communications and Natural Resources, Defence and the Radiological Protection Institute of Ireland, hereby orders as follows:—

1. This Order may be cited as the Radiological Protection Act 1991 (Ionising Radiation) Order 2000 (Revocation) Order 2007.

2. Article 6 of the Radiological Protection Act, 1991 (Ionising Radiation) Order, 2000 (No. 125 of 2000) is hereby revoked.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order revokes Article 6 of the Radiological Protection Act, 1991 (Ionising Radiation) Order, 2000. This is to allow for the laying down of new licensing and application procedures by the Radiological Protection Institute of Ireland for practices involving ionising radiation.
