Garda Síochána Act 2005 (Commencement) (No. 3) Order 2007

I, Michael McDowell, Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 2 of the Garda Síochána Act 2005 (No. 20 of 2005), hereby order as follows:

1.      This order may be cited as the Garda Síochána Act 2005 (Commencement) (No. 3) Order 2007.

2.      The 9th day of May 2007 is appointed as the day on which the following provisions of the Garda Síochána Act 2005 come into operation:

(a)      section 4 and Schedule 1, in so far as they relate to the provisions specified in the third column of the Schedule to this order;

(b)      Chapter 8 of Part 2;

(c)      sections 67(1), 67(2), 73, 74(3) and 81;

(d)      Part 4;

(e)      sections 125 and 126,

(f)      Schedules 3 and 5.
