S.I. No. 370/2005 - Garda Síochána Act 2005 (Commencement) Order 2005

I, MICHAEL McDOWELL, Minister for Justice Equality and Law Reform, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 2 of the Garda Síochána Act 2005 (No. 20 of 2005), hereby order as follows:

1.  This Order may be cited as the Garda Síochána Act 2005 (Commencement) Order 2005.

2.  The 1st day of August 2005 is appointed as the day on which—

(a)  Part 1 (other than section 4), and

(b)  sections 7, 39, 40, 41, 47, 48, 49, 60, 62, 121 (other than subsection (2)(b) and (c)), 124, 130 and 131,

of the Garda Síochána Act 2005 (No. 20 of 2005) shall come into operation.

This Statutory Instrument brings into operation from 1 August, 2005 certain provisions of the Garda Síochána Act 2005 .
