INTERNATIONAL CARRIAGE OF PERISHABLE FOODSTUFFS ACT 1987 (SPECIFIED PERSON) ORDER 2004

I, Joe Walsh, Minister for Agriculture and Food, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 6(4) of the International Carriage of Perishable Foodstuffs Act 1987 (No. 20 of 1987) and the International Carriage of Perishable Foodstuffs Act 1987 (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) Order 1993 ( S.I. No. 397 of 1993 ) (as adapted by the Agriculture Food and Rural Development (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order 2002 ( S.I. No. 306 of 2002 )), hereby order as follows-

1.   This Order may be cited as the International Carriage of Perishable Foodstuffs Act 1987 (Specified Person) Order 2004.

2.   The National Standards Authority of Ireland is appointed as a specified person to act on behalf of the Minister for Agriculture and Food for the purposes of subsections (1) to (3) of section 6 of the International Carriage of Perishable Foodstuffs Act 1987 ( No. 20 of 1987 ).

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order confers the function of issuing approval in respect of “type equipment” manufactured in Ireland for the purposes of the carriage of perishable foodstuffs on the NSAI (National Standards Authority of Ireland).
