S.I. No. 527/2003 - Children Act 2001 (Part 11) (Commencement) Order 2003

I, Brian Lenihan, Minister of State at the Department of Health and Children, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by Section 2 (2)(e) of the Children Act 2001 (No. 24 of 2001) and the Health and Children (Delegation of Ministerial Functions) Order 2003 ( S.I. No. 474 of 2003 )(as adapted by the Health (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order 1997 (S.I. No. 308 of 1997 )), and with the agreement of the Minister for Education and Science hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Children Act 2001 (Part 11) (Commencement) Order 2003.

2. The 7th day of November 2003 is appointed as the day on which Part 11 of the Children Act 2001 (No. 24 of 2001) comes into operation.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Statutory Instrument brings Part 11 of the Children Act 2001 into operation.

Part 11 of the Act establishes the Special Residential Services Board on a statutory basis.
