I, John O'Donoghue, Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 2 (3) of the Firearms (Firearm Certificates for Non-Residents) Act 2000 (No. 20 of 2000) and having consulted with the Commissioner of the Garda Síochána, hereby order as follows: 1. This Order may be cited as the Firearm Certificates for Non-Residents Order 2002. 2. The period specified in section 2 (2)(a)(i) of the Firearms (Firearm Certificates for Non-Residents) Act 2000 (No. 20 of 2000) is reduced so as to end on 28 February 2002. | ||||||||

This Order provides for the transfer to the Garda Síochána from the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform with effect from the 1 March, 2002 of the power to grant firearm certificates to non-residents under the provisions of the Firearms (Firearm Certificates for Non-Residents) Act 2000 . |
