S.I. No. 65/2001 - European Communities (Minimum Stocks of Petroleum Oils) (Amendment) Regulations, 2001
I, Mary O'Rourke, Minister for Public Enterprise, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act, 1972 (No. 27 of 1972), and for the purpose of giving effect to Council Directive 98/93/EC of 14 December 19981 , hereby make the following Regulations: | |||||
1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Minimum Stocks of Petroleum Oils) (Amendment) Regulations, 2001. | |||||
2. Regulation 2(2) of the European Communities (Minimum Stocks of Petroleum Oils) Regulations, 1995 ( S.I. No. 96 of 1995 ), is amended by the substitution for the definition of “the 1968 Directive” of the following definition: | |||||
“ ‘the 1968 Directive’ means Council Directive 68/414/EEC of 20 December 19682 , as amended by Council Directive 98/93/EC of 14 December 19681 ;”. | |||||

These Regulations give effect to Council Directive 98/93/EC which amended Council Directive 68/414/EEC on compulsory oil stockholding in the EU internal market. These Regulations expand the definition of “the 1968 Directive” in the European Communities (Minimum Stocks of Petroleum Oils) Regulations, 1995 ( S.I. No. 96 of 1995 ) to include a reference to Directive 98/93/EC. | |||||
