S.I. No. 326/2001 - Social Welfare (Consolidated Payments Provisions) (Amendment) (No. 4) (Island Allowance) Regulations, 2001


The Minister for Social, Community and Family Affairs, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 2(1) (as amended by section 15 of the Social Welfare Act, 2001 (No. 5 of 2001)) and 4 (as amended by section 9 of the Social Welfare Act, 2001 ) of the Social Welfare (Consolidation) Act, 1993 (No. 27 of 1993) hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation and construction.

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Social Welfare (Consolidated Payments Provisions) (Amendment) (No.4) (Island Allowance) Regulations, 2001.

(2) These Regulations and the Social Welfare (Consolidated Payments Provisions) Regulations 1994 to 2001 shall be construed together as one and may be cited as the Social Welfare (Consolidated Payments Provisions) Regulations, 1994 to 2001.

Island allowance.

2. The Social Welfare (Consolidated Payments Provisions) Regulations, 1994 ( S.I. No. 417 of 1994 ) are amended by the insertion in Article 138 (inserted by article 5 of the Social Welfare (Consolidated Payments Provisions) (Amendment) (No.2) (Miscellaneous Provisions) Regulations, 2001 ( S.I. No. 132 of 2001 )) after “Inishturk, Co. Mayo,” of “Island Roy, Co. Donegal,”.

These Regulations provide for the addition of Island Roy in co. Donegal to the list of prescribed islands for the purposes of the Island Allowance payable to pensioners over 66 who are normally resident on those islands.
