S.I. No. 202/1999 - Europol Act, 1997 (Section 2) (1997 Protocol) (Commencement) Order, 1999

I, JOHN O'DONOGHUE, Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 14 (2) of the Europol Act, 1997 (No. 38 of 1997), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Europol Act, 1997 (Section 2) (1997 Protocol) (Commencement) Order, 1999.

2. The 6th day of July, 1999, is hereby fixed as the day on which section 2 of the Europol Act, 1997 (No. 38 of 1997), shall come into operation in so far as that section applies to the 1997 Protocol.

This Order brings into operation the provision of the Europol Act, 1997 which applies to the 1997 Protocol on the privileges and immunities of Europol staff.
