LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACT, 1998 (COMMENCEMENT) (NO. 2) ORDER, 1998.

The Minister for the Environment and Local Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 15 (4) of the Local Government Act, 1998 (No. 16 of 1998) hereby orders as follows:—

1. This Order may be cited as the Local Government Act, 1998 (Commencement) (No. 2) Order, 1998.

2. Section 12 of the Local Government Act, 1998 shall come into operation on the date of the making of this Order.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This order commences section 12 of the Local Government Act, 1998 which provides for the grant of a gratuity in respect of service as a member of a local authority, in accordance with a scheme to be made under section 12.
