EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT ELECTIONS ACT, 1997 (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER, 1997

The Minister for the Environment, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 1 (3) of the European Parliament Elections Act, 1997 (No. 2 of 1997), hereby orders as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the European Parliament Elections Act, 1997 (Commencement) Order, 1997.

2. The European Parliament Elections Act, 1997 shall come into operation on the date of the making of this Order.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This order brings the provisions of the European Parliament Elections Act, 1997 (which provides for the consolidation with amendments of the statutory provisions relating to the conduct of elections to the European Parliament) into operation on 21 April, 1997.
