SOCIAL WELFARE ACT, 1996 (SECTION 22) (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER, 1996

The Minister for Social Welfare, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 22 of the Social Welfare Act, 1996 (No. 7 of 1996), hereby orders as follows:

1 Citation.

1. This Order may be cited as the Social Welfare Act, 1996 (Section 22) (Commencement) Order, 1996.

2 Commencement.

2. Section 22 of the Social Welfare Act, 1996 shall come into operation with effect from the 27th day of November, 1996.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

Section 22 of the Social Welfare Act, 1996 provides for improvements in the Unemployment Assistance scheme including regulatory powers relating to the assessment of earnings from insurable employment.

This Order brings these provisions into effect from 27 November, 1996.
