BOVINE DISEASES (LEVIES) (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1996 (SECTIONS 6 AND 7) (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER, 1996

I, IVAN YATES, Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 6 and 7 of the Bovine Diseases (Levies) (Amendment) Act, 1996 (No. 5 of 1996) hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Bovine Diseases (Levies) (Amendment) Act, 1996 (Sections 6 and 7) (Commencement) Order, 1996.

2. The 1st day of June, 1996 is hereby fixed as the day on which sections 6 and 7 of the Bovine Diseases (Levies) (Amendment) Act, 1996 (No. 5 of 1996), shall come into operation.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order provides for the bringing into operation of sections 6 and 7 of the Bovine Diseases (Levies) (Amendment) Act, 1996 .

Section 6 increases the fines in respect of offences under the Bovine Diseases (Levies) Acts, 1979 to 1996 and Section 7 increases the fines in respect of offences under the Diseases of Animals Acts, 1966 to 1996.
