LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACT, 1994 (COMMENCEMENT) (NO. 4) ORDER, 1995.

The Minister for the Environment in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 1 (9) of the Local Government Act, 1994 (No. 8 of 1994), hereby orders as follows:—

1. This Order may be cited as the Local Government Act, 1994 (Commencement) (No. 4) Order, 1995.

2. Part VII, other than sections 37 (3) and 43 (1), of the Local Government Act, 1994 , shall come into operation generally on the 1st day of January, 1996.

3. ( a ) Section 37 (3) of the Local Government Act, 1994 shall come into operation on the 1st day of January, 1996, other than for the purposes of applying sections 37 (4) (i), 40 and 41 of that Act to the powers to make bye-laws conferred by the enactments mentioned at paragraphs (b) and (c) of the said section 37 (3).

( b ) Section 43 (1) of the Local Government Act, 1994 shall come into operation on the 1st day of January, 1996, other than with respect to bye-laws to which section 22 (2) of the Building Control Act, 1990 (No. 3 of 1990) apply.

4. Section 4 (1) of and the First Schedule to the Local Government Act, 1994 shall come into operation on the 1st day of January, 1996 to the extent specified in the Schedule to this Order.
