AGRICULTURE AND FOOD (ALTERATION OF NAME OF DEPARTMENT AND TITLE OF MINISTER) ORDER, 1993.

The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 6 (1) of the Ministers and Secretaries (Amendment) Act, 1939 (No. 36 of 1939), hereby order as follows:

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Agriculture and Food (Alteration of name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1993.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 21st day of January, 1993.

2. The name of the Department of State, the present name whereof is, in the Irish language an Roinn Talmhaíochta agus Bia and, in the English language, the Department of Agriculture and Food, is hereby altered, in the Irish language, to that of an Roinn Talmhaíochta, Bia agus Foraoiseachta and, in the English language, to that of the Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry.

3. The title of the Minister having charge of the Department of State, whose present title is, in the Irish language, an tAire Talmhaíochta agus Bia and, in the English language, the Minister for Agriculture and Food, is hereby altered, in the Irish language, to that of an tAire Talmhaíochta, Bia agus Foraoiseachta and, in the English language, to that of the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry.

4. In any enactment—

( a ) references to the Department of Agriculture and Food shall be construed as references to the Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry,

( b ) references to the Minister for Agriculture and Food shall be construed as references to the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order changes the name of the Department of Agriculture and Food to that of the Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry and the name of the Minister for Agriculture and Food to that of the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry.
