The main effect of the Order will be that summer time will begin one week later in 1993 and 1994 than provided for in the 1971 Act. A minor effect of the Order will be that the time of change from winter time to summer time and vice versa will be 1 a.m. in the morning (G.M.T.) rather than 2 a.m. This Order given effect to an E.E.C. Directive [92/20/EEC of 26 March, 1992] concerning summer time in E.E.C. Member States.

This Order shall not come into operation until it has been approved by resolution of each House of the Oireachtas.
