CRIMINAL DAMAGE ACT, 1991 (SECTION 14 (4) ) (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER, 1992.

I, PADRAIG FLYNN, Minister for Justice, in exercise of the power conferred to me by section 16 (3) of the Criminal Damage Act, 1991 (No. 31 of 1991), hereby make the following order:

1. This Order may be cited as the Criminal Damage Act, 1991 (Section 14 (4)) (Commencement) Order, 1992.

2. The 10th day of August, 1992, is hereby fixed as the day on which section 14 (4) of the Criminal Damage Act, 1991 (No. 31 of 1991), shall come into operation.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

Section 14 (4) of the Criminal Damage Act 1991 , which this order brings into operation, updates the Schedule to the Criminal Law Jurisdiction Act 1976 in consequence of the abolition by the 1991 Act of the common law offence of arson and the replacement of the arson offences in the Malicious Damage Act 1861 by those in section 2 of the 1991 Act.
