WORKER PROTECTION (REGULAR PART-TIME EMPLOYEES) ACT, 1991 (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER, 1991.

I, BERTIE AHERN, T.D., Minister for Labour, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 8 (9) of the Worker Protection (Regular Part-Time Employees) Act, 1991 (No. 5 of 1991), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Worker Protection (Regular Part-Time Employees) Act, 1991 (Commencement) Order, 1991.

2. The Worker Protection (Regular Part-Time Employees) Act, 1991 , (No. 5 of 1991), shall come into operation on the 6th day of April, 1991, being the day hereby fixed for that purpose, except in so far as it applies the Redundancy Payments Acts, 1967 to 1990, the Maternity Protection of Employees Act, 1981 (No. 2 of 1981), and the Protection of Employees (Employers' Insolvency) Acts, 1984 and 1990, to regular part-time employees.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order appoints the 6th day of April, 1991, as the day on which the Worker Protection (Regular Part-Time Employees) Act, 1991 comes into operation in respect of rights under the Unfair Dismissals Act, 1977 , the Minimum Notice and Terms of Employment Acts, 1973 and 1984, the Holidays (Employees) Act, 1973 and the Worker Participation (State Enterprises) Acts, 1977 and 1988.
