PENSIONS ACT, 1990 (PART II) (ESTABLISHMENT DAY) ORDER, 1990.

The Minister for Social Welfare, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 8 of the Pensions Act, 1990 (No. 25 of 1990), hereby orders and appoints as follows:—

1. This Order may be cited as the Pensions Act, 1990 (Part II) (Establishment Day) Order, 1990.

2. The 21st day of December, 1990 shall be the establishment day for the purposes of Part II of the Pensions Act, 1990 .

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of the Order is to establish under the Pensions Act, 1990 , a body to be known as An Bord Pinsean — The Pensions Board which will be responsible for the monitoring and supervision of the operation of the Pensions Act and advising the Minister for Social Welfare on all matters relating to pensions generally.
