WILDLIFE ACT, 1976 (SECTION 27) ORDER, 1985.

I, PADDY O'TOOLE, T.D., Minister for Fisheries and Forestry, being satisfied that because of the severity of weather conditions occurring in the State and elsewhere in Europe it is desirable, in the interest of conserving fauna, to make an order under section 27 of the Wildlife Act, 1976 , (No. 39 of 1976) hereby, in exercise of the powers vested in me by the said section 27, as adapted by the Fisheries (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1978 (S.I. No. 1978), make the following order:

1. This Order may be cited as the Wildlife Act, 1976 (Section 27) Order, 1985,

2. The hunting of any protected wild bird which is of a species specified in the Schedule to this Order (being species each of which is specified in the Wildlife (Wild Birds) (Open Seasons) Orders, 1979 to 1984,

is hereby prohibited throughout the State during the period beginning on the commencement of this Order and ending on the 31st day of January, 1985.

SCHEDULE

Woodcock, Mallard, Teal, Gadwall, Wigeon, Pintail, Shoveler, Scaup, Tufted, Duck, Pochard, Goldeneye, Golden Plover, Snipe, Jack Snipe and Cock Pheasant.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of this Order is to ban the hunting of the listed protected wild birds until the 31st January 1985.
