LOCAL GOVERNMENT (SUPERANNUATION) ACT, 1980 (SECTIONS 2, 3, 4, 9 AND 10) (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER, 1984.

The Minister for the Environment, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by paragraph (b) of subsection (2) of section 12 of the Local Government (Superannuation) Act, 1980 (No. 8 of 1980), hereby orders as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Local Government (Superannuation) Act, 1980 (Sections 2, 3, 4, 9 and 10) (Commencement) Order, 1984.

2. In this Order—

"the Act" means the Local Government (Superannuation) Act, 1980 .

3. Section 2 of the Act shall be deemed to have come into operation on the 23rd day of July, 1968.

4. Section 3 of the Act shall be deemed to have come into operation on the 1st day of January, 1968.

5. Section 4 of the Act shall be deemed to have come into operation on the 27th day of May, 1977.

6. Section 9 of the Act shall be deemed to have come into operation on the 15th day of July, 1971.

7. Section 10 of the Act shall be deemed to have come into operation on the 1st day of January, 1968.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order brings sections 2 , 3 , 4 , 9 and 10 of the Local Government (Superannuation) Act, 1980 into operation on the dates specified therein.
