ROAD TRAFFIC (LICENSING OF DRIVERS) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1984.

The Minister for the Environment in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 5 , 33 and 42 of the Road Traffic Act, 1961 (No. 24 of 1961) hereby makes the following Regulations:—

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Road Traffic (Licensing of Drivers) (Amendment) Regulations, 1984.

(2) These Regulations and the Road Traffic (Licensing of Drivers) Regulations, 1964 to 1983 shall be construed as one and may be cited together as the Road Traffic (Licensing of Drivers) Regulations, 1964 to 1984.

2. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 30th day of January, 1984.

3. Article 6 of the Road Traffic (Licensing of Drivers) (Amendment) Regulations, 1983 ( S.I. No. 49 of 1983 ) is hereby revoked.

4. The fee to be paid to the issuing authority on application for a certificate of competency shall be thirty-three pounds where the application relates to vehicles of Class H, twenty-five pounds where the application relates to vehicles of Class D or Class E and seventeen pounds in any other case.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations amend the Road Traffic (Licensing of Drivers) Regulations, 1964 to 1983 so as to provide for revised rates of fees for driving tests.
