CENSORSHIP OF FILMS (EXHIBITION OF CENSOR'S CERTIFICATE) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1983.

I, MICHAEL NOONAN, Minister for Justice, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 12 of the Censorship of Films Act, 1923 (No. 23 of 1923), and section 7 of the Censorship of Films (Amendment) Act, 1925 (No. 21 of 1925), hereby make the following Regulations:—

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Censorship of Films (Exhibition of Censor's Certificate) (Amendment) Regulations, 1983.

(2) The Censorship of Films (Exhibition of Censor's Certificate) Regulations, 1926 to 1962, and these Regulations may be cited together as the Censorship of Films (Exhibition of Censor's Certificate) Regulations, 1926 to 1983.

2. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 5th day of April, 1983.

3. Regulation 3 of the Censorship of Films (Exhibition of Censor's Certificate) Regulations, 1926 (S.R. and O., No. 13 of 1926), is hereby amended by the substitution of "a fine not exceeding £25 for each such offence" for "a fine not exceeding £5 for each such offence".

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations, which come into operation on the 5th April, 1983, provide for an increase in the fine for the non-exhibition of the Film Censor's Certificate.
