EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES (LABELLING, PRESENTATION AND ADVERTISING OF FOODSTUFFS) (COMMENCEMENT) REGULATIONS, 1983.

I, FRANK CLUSKEY, Minister for Trade, Commerce and Tourism, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act, 1972 (No. 27 of 1972), and for the purpose of giving full effect to Council Directive No. 79/112/EEC of 18 December, 1978,1 hereby make the following Regulations:

1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Labelling, Presentation and Advertising of Foodstuffs) (Commencement) Regulations, 1983.

2. Regulations 5 to 19 of the European Communities (Labelling, Presentation and Advertising of Foodstuffs) Regulations, 1982 ( S.I. No. 205 of 1982 ), shall come into operation on the 1st day of December, 1983.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The purpose of these Regulations is to bring into effect from 1 December, 1983 Regulations 5-19 of the European Communities (Labelling, Presentation and Advertising of Foodstuffs) Regulations, 1982 ( S.I. No. 205 of 1982 ).
